Machinist Program

Danvers, MA (400 Hours) 3/2024–7/2024

  • Completed training on manual lathes and mills (operation, setup, controls, and production), and advanced multi-axis CNC (some basic programming that is required for set up and operating, levels of G-Coding)
  • Blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T), technical math, metrology, and inspection.

  • CNC—Haas Mini Mill, Haas TM-1 Mill, Haas VF-2 Mill, Haas TL-1 lathe with Aloris Tool Post, Haas TL lathe, with indexing turret.
  • Manual Machining Equipment—Prototrak conversational / manual mills, Prototrak, manual lathes, manual engine lathes, horizontal bandsaw.
  • Files, deburring tools, hammers, and mallets
  • Dial calipers, OD micrometers, ID micrometers, depth micrometers, telescoping gauges, height gauges, surface plate, dial indicators, gauge pins/gauge blocks, thread inspection tools, optical comparator.

Additional Training

  • 6-week virtual contextualized machining Math course, in preparation for the advanced manufacturing machining with the Nighthawks at Essex Tech.
